The west window. Chesterfield Parish Church – St Mary and All Saints.

No one knows quite how long there has been a church in Chesterfield, but a church is listed in the Lincoln Chartulary in 1093-4 as having existed around 1042-1066. What is certain, is that Chesterfield had a mother church in 1234 and that much of the work on the building we know today was completed around 1370. The spire was added around 1400.
