Tapton Lock, Chesterfield Canal. By David Charlesworth
£2.00 inc. envelope.
The card is A5 size with “Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” message inside.
The Chesterfield Canal was one of the last canals designed by James Brindley who died while it was being constructed. It was opened in 1777 and ran for 74 kilometres (46 Miles) from the River Trent at West Stockwith to Chesterfield. The Chesterfield Canal Trust promotes the full restoration and appropriate development of the Chesterfield Canal and campaigns for the construction of the Rother Valley Link, a navigable waterway to join the Chesterfield Canal to the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation.
